What does it take to cultivate a happy, productive team?

I have three major takeaways from my time in marketing, brand, and content creation.

First and foremost, the more hands-on creatives are, the better we’ll tell the story. Creative brains work differently. When you bring us into the fold, allow us to talk to people and take in our surroundings, creatives can capture a unique story and turn it into something memorable.

Secondly, every aspect of marketing takes more time than you think. Social media. Design. Editing. All of it. Plan accordingly, give grace with timelines, shield them from distractions, and understand that you will need to roll up your sleeves and jump in with them at times.

And third, shower your people with compliments. When they do something right, tell them. When you’re proud, tell them. Do it often and be specific. A little consistency goes a long way.
